How would the cloud benefit my practice?

Consider the convenience of your email — you can login from anywhere, on any device whether it’s a phone, tablet or laptop, and you don’t have to worry about back-ups because they’re done automatically. These are the same benefits that a cloud practice management software offers. It’s security and ease of access to your schedule, patient charts, and everything in between.

Is my patient data safe?

Our servers are HIPAA compliant and monitored 24/7 with the highest data security, which makes it more secure than storing information on an in-office server. Corporations such as BMW, Siemens, Harvard Medical School, and NASDAQ are using the same cloud servers as us.

Cloud data is also stored redundantly, meaning that your data is in multiple places at once, so if something happens to one cloud storage site, it’s still safe. We also use multi-tenancy storage, which means that each dental practice gets their own dedicated cloud server.

If you’d like more information on the HIPAA compliance of our cloud environment, we welcome you to read this whitepaper on the topic.

Can I use asprodental on my mac/ipad/pc/tablet…?

Yes, yes, and yes! You’ll log into Asprodental via a webpage the same way that you log into your email or any web account. Devices that have internet browsers will be able to load Asprodental and there’s no download required.

Are there any system or hardware requirements?

Operating systems: We recommend Windows 8 or above, and MacOS X or above.

Internet browser: Google Chrome is our recommended internet browser. Asprodental is also compatible with Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, and other internet browsers.

Tablets: Asprodental works on most modern tablets that are able to load web pages.

*A Windows 8 or above device is required on at least one workstation to capture x-rays.

are appointment reminders and two-way texting with patients included?

Yes! Patients will automatically receive appointment reminders and can confirm via text or email. You can also text patients directly from the software. All communications are logged as part of the patient’s health record.

How does asprodental compare to what i’m currently using?

Many practices use third party programs on top of their practice management software and have to switch between the different programs.

What other services are you using and paying separately for?

  • Support for the practice management software (~$200/month)

  • Texting / appointment reminders (~$300/month)

  • Insurance claims (~$50-200/month if you’re paying per claim)

  • Electronic consents (~$300/month)

Conveniently, all these things are included in the price of Asprodental and can be accessed in one place.

How does Asprodental compare to other cloud practice management software?

Asprodental was designed by a team of dental professionals (dentists, office managers, dental assistants, hygienists, etc.) who understand the real life workflow of a dental practice.

Asprodental is the only practice management software with a one page chart, where the clinical team only needs to interact with one screen for the periodontal charting, odontogram, treatment plan, and clinical notes. Asprodental also actively helps your office grow! Team members will receive live game-like feedback throughout the day that motivates them to meet their KPI goals.

how do x-rays work on the cloud?

X-rays are captured and manipulated locally, which means there’s no lag time between shots. After capturing, the x-rays are uploaded to the cloud in the background so you can continue working without interruption.

Will I lose any data if I’m converting from an old practice management software?

Our data conversion process is collaborative! That means we’ll work with you to ensure that everything you need is converted over. You will also still have access to all your data on the old practice management software if it remains installed on the computer.

How do I transition from paper charts to a digital system?

It’s a process — we’ve been there. You have the option of scanning the paper charts into each patient’s electronic chart. However, many offices will start fresh with the new practice management software and keep the paper charts in storage to reference when necessary; it takes about 1 year to phase out of paper charts this way.

specs

What internet speed do I need?

We recommend a minimum of 20MB download / 10MB upload speed, and the higher the better. Most internet providers can offer 250+ Mbps.

WHich computers/devices do I use?

Asprodental can be used on any device -- Mac, PC, computer, laptop, iPad, tablet.

  • The only requirement is for computers/laptops that you plug the x-ray sensors into: those have to be PCs. Both computers and laptops will work for the imaging computers.

  • Once the x-rays are taken, then can be viewed on any device (Mac, PC, computer, laptop, iPad, tablet)

Which x-ray sensors do i use?

Asprodental integrates with Sota and Apteryx imaging modules that support almost every sensor, scanner and intra-oral camera. If there is not a direct integration, you can still use TWAIN to trigger capturing from the Asprodental system.

We also provide database conversion for various imaging systems, facilitating an easy migration of historical data. For more details on compatible devices and database conversion, please see the comprehensive lists attached below.

  • CBCT 3D imaging: if the device does not have a direct integration, you can import the images into the Asprodental system by hand, or continue keeping it as a separate system
